This Privacy Policy explains how Sylion LLC ("Sylion," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use GreensWrld, including the website at greenswrld.com, our mobile and web applications, and related services (the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. About Us

Sylion LLC operates GreensWrld and is responsible for the personal data collected through the Service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information: Name, email address, and password when you create an account.
  • Profile information: Optional profile details you choose to add, including contact channels you make available to other users.
  • Marketplace listings: Photos, descriptions, prices, and location information you submit when creating listings, including city, state, and approximate coordinates used for nearby results.
  • GAIA conversations: Text messages, questions, and photos you submit to our AI assistant, GAIA.
  • Communications: Information you provide when contacting our support team.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Location: You can enter a region manually. If you choose device location and grant permission, your device supplies coordinates that are processed by our location services to find nearby listings and places. Your saved region may also personalize GAIA after you allow AI processing.
  • Device and usage information: Browser type, operating system, IP address, and general interaction data with the Service.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: Used to maintain your session, remember your preferences, and improve performance.

2.3 Photos and Image Data

When you send a photo to GAIA, we process it to provide a response. The current GAIA and new Marketplace listing photo flows create a new image from the selected photo's pixels before upload, removing the original file's embedded camera metadata. This conversion does not apply to every upload path, including profile photos, or retroactively change earlier uploads. Details visible in a photo can still identify a person or place.

2.4 Payment Information

When you subscribe to GreensWrld Pro, payment is processed by a payment partner that meets industry security standards. Sylion does not store your full payment card information. We receive only the information necessary to confirm and maintain your subscription.

2.5 What We Do Not Collect

  • Home addresses. Marketplace exchanges do not require you to publish a home address. Public business and directory entries may include street addresses. Avoid putting private addresses in listing text or photos.
  • Message content between users. GreensWrld does not host direct messaging between users. When buyers and sellers connect through Marketplace inquiries, they communicate on contact channels they themselves chose to share — not through Sylion's systems.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Authenticate your account and protect against fraud and abuse
  • Process subscription payments and manage billing
  • Surface relevant Marketplace listings, Directory entries, and GAIA responses based on your region
  • Deliver proactive alerts (such as frost warnings, pest pressure, and local events) for Pro subscribers who opt in
  • Send important account-related communications (such as receipts and policy updates)
  • Respond to your support requests
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. The GreensWrld Research Program (Optional)

GreensWrld offers an optional research contribution program. If you opt in via Profile → Settings, copies of plant and pest photos you submit to GAIA may be used to improve GAIA's accuracy and support agricultural research conducted by Sylion. This choice is separate from permission to process your messages with AI.

When you opt in:

  • New contributions from the current GAIA photo flow use the converted image described above. Earlier contributions may have been collected through previous upload handling.
  • Research records may contain the image, the AI diagnosis, your optional reaction or follow-up outcome, season, region, and consent information.
  • Research records may include account identifiers used to manage contributions and deletion requests. Visible details within a photo may also identify a person or place.
  • You can opt out at any time to stop new contributions. Account deletion includes the research records associated with your account; uploaded files may require additional provider cleanup.

You are not required to participate in the research program to use GreensWrld.

4a. How GAIA Uses Artificial Intelligence

GAIA, our plant-care assistant, uses Base44 and third-party AI providers. Before using GAIA, you can allow or decline AI processing. You can change this choice using AI sharing in GAIA. To generate responses:

  • The text and photos you submit to GAIA, along with relevant context (such as your coarse region, hardiness zone, and garden profile), are processed by our AI service providers to produce a response.
  • GAIA may retrieve public web information (for example, local frost dates or seasonal guidance) to improve the accuracy of its answers.
  • Your GAIA conversation history is stored with your account. Removing a chat from your history and erasing its provider-hosted content may require separate cleanup.

AI outputs can be wrong. GAIA's responses are generated by AI and are provided for informational purposes only. They may contain errors, and they are not a substitute for professional advice. Never rely on GAIA to determine whether a plant is safe to eat or touch, and never use GAIA for medical or veterinary decisions.

4b. No Cross-App Tracking

We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, we do not use your data for third-party advertising, and we do not sell your personal information. GreensWrld contains no third-party advertising SDKs.

5. How We Share Your Information

5.1 Service Providers

We use service providers for infrastructure, hosting, payment processing, location and mapping services, and the AI systems that power GAIA. These services process information for the features you use. Their handling of data is governed by the applicable service terms and privacy practices. Contact us if you need more information about the providers involved in a feature.

5.2 Other Users

Information you choose to make public — such as Marketplace listings, your display name, profile photo, and the contact channels you mark as visible — is shared with other users in the contexts you've enabled.

When you express interest in another user's listing, the channels you've marked visible (and only those channels) are shared with that listing's owner so they can reach out to you off-platform.

5.3 Legal Compliance

We may disclose information if required by law, valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Sylion, our users, or others.

5.4 Business Transfers

If Sylion is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before any such transfer.

6. Your Rights and Choices

6.1 Access and Correction

You can view and edit your profile information at any time via the Profile section of the app.

6.2 Contact Channel Visibility

You control which contact channels are shared with other users on a per-channel basis via Profile → Settings → "How buyers can reach you." You can hide a channel without removing it, or remove it entirely.

6.3 Account Deletion

You can initiate account deletion via Profile → Settings → Delete Account. Successful deletion removes your GreensWrld app account and associated app records, including listings, inquiries, garden profiles, chat history records, and research contributions. Provider-hosted AI conversations and uploaded files may require additional cleanup. An administrator-only deletion record retains the identifiers needed to complete that work. External paid subscriptions are not canceled by account deletion; cancel through your billing provider first to prevent further charges.

6.4 Research Program Opt-Out

You can withdraw from the research contribution program at any time via Profile → Settings.

6.5 Location and Camera Permissions

You can revoke location and camera permissions at any time through your device settings. Some features may not function without these permissions.

6.6 Marketing Communications

If we send marketing emails in the future, you can unsubscribe via the link in any such email.

6.7 GDPR Rights (EEA, UK, and Switzerland)

If applicable, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Receive a portable copy of your data
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

6.8 CCPA Rights (California residents)

If applicable, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect about you
  • Request deletion of your personal information

7. Data Security

We use technical and organizational measures to help protect your information. No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.

8. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service.

  • Account deletion removes the app records described above. A limited deletion record may be retained while remaining provider data and billing records are addressed, or where retention is required by law.
  • Research contributions remain associated with your account until they are removed. Opting out stops new contributions.
  • Aggregated and anonymized analytics may be retained indefinitely.

9. Children's Privacy

GreensWrld is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us at contact@greenswrld.com and we will delete that information.

10. International Data Transfers

Sylion is based in the United States. Processing and storage locations depend on the services involved and may differ from the country where you use GreensWrld. Contact contact@greenswrld.com with questions about where your information is processed.

11. Third-Party Links and Services

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services, or facilitate communication via third-party channels (such as email, SMS, or messaging apps you choose to use for buyer-seller contact). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will provide additional notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
